Learning To Leave by sheppardarts, This is truly a beautiful and emotionally powerful painting even if one is not familiar with the artist's personal story for creating it. This piece speaks volumes to what an artist is capable of when they decide to let their art speak for their soul. The message of learning to leave is one we all have to learn even when letting go is often the hardest thing we will ever do. For more beautiful paintings be sure to check out the rest of this artist's gallery. ( Suggested by lovelessdevotions and Featured by diphylla )

This is absolutely breathtaking. It spoke to me, which might be strange as I've never lost anyone that I care about, and yet I'm grieving something all the same. Thanks for sharing.

so much emotion shown in one piece. knowing the one you've always loved is lost; through friendship, being there for the one that needs you the most; and by being the bystander. not sure if those are the exact emotions you are going through or trying to show, and I'm sure after reading your story you must be going through the one,  but through my own perspective i've experienced all three, and it's hard. seeing the world around you, unsure of how to proceed.
you've done a wonderful job at portraying the emotion through this, it's very relatable and very beautiful.
if there's anything you need, feel free to note me, I'm always willing to keep an ear out and listen to those who need it

This is an absolutely gorgeous work. I was floored by the emotion and the surging of grief from the central figure even before I read your blog post. Sometimes, powerful emotions from all parts of the spectrum are what pulls out our most beautiful art.

This image is powerful and exceptionally well rendered. Having lost a love one, one can only feel the pain when it happens to them and leaving is so hard to do. Never forgetting the memories.

Just read the story behind this work (with Audiomachine playing in the background). It all makes so much more scence, and it's all the more beautiful because of that. This is what art is - not mindlessly drawing, but expressing yourself.
I've decided to peruse your blogg, I'm already liking what I see. Thanks for posting this :D

Very powerful piece! Very interesting the way the skull is so much less strongly defined than the grieving woman or her friend. This really seems to support the idea.

This is so beautiful! Definitely worth the DD. In fact, I'd say it's better than a lot of DDs I've seen. The emotion in the piece is very powerful and well-conveyed through the posture of the different aspects and the symbolic details. Thank you for sharing your story—it made the painting all the deeper. Also, as others have mentioned, it has the beautiful allure of historic paintings. You truly are a magnificent artist, and I wish you luck with both your art and your personal struggles.

At first glance, I thought it was something the pre-Raphaellites painted. But then I saw that it was New. Well, simply put; Wow, it's beautiful and poignant.
The pre-Raphaellites would have been proud to see their legacy still lives.
